If
you're interested in buying beachfront property outside of the US, as
a vacation home or as a place for you to retire, then Costa Rica is
one of those countries you should definitely visit. As it is
surrounded nearly on all sides by bodies of water, Costa Rica has
plenty of unclaimed beachfront real estate to be found either on the
west or east side. While you may be interested in buying such
properties, you may also want to rent them out instead.
After
all, the country is frequented by at least 2 million tourists every
year and many of them flock to beaches simply to have fun. Why not
rent out your new house and offer them another place to stay? The
demand for beachfront real estate is so high that there is almost
always someone willing to buy/rent it, which also allows the property
to recover its value if the real estate market ever comes crashing
down again.
At
the very least, owning beachfront property gives you an advantage if
you want to spend a vacation in Costa Rica. Not only are you
perfectly able to take part in various beach activities like surfing
and fishing from the get-go, you'll also have easy access to the best
restaurants and shops that tourists often have a hard time finding.
Since the cost of living is lower in Costa Rica than in the US, you
might want to end up living here anyway.
